Bangor Pioneer Is Called By Death

William Claborn Bishop, aged 72 years, 5 months and 12 days, died at his home in Bangor yesterday morning as a result of heart failure. He had been seriously ill for two months and his death was not unexpected.

Deceased was a pioneer of the Bangor district, having engaged in farming there for the past thirty years. For fifty-six years he had been a resident of California, coming to Californian from his native state of Indiana.

He is survived by a brother, Benjamin Bishop of Bangor, and three sons, J. W. Bishop of Oroville and John and Samuel Bishop of Bangor.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Bangor Methodist Episcopal church.

Transcriber's note: William, along with his parents and siblings lived in Madison County from about 1850 to about 1860.
