DOREEN BLUBAUGH STOUT, Los Angeles, Ca, formerly of Des Moines and Winterset

E. Doreen (Sumpter) Blubaugh Stout, 77, went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2013, at Huntington Retirement Assisted Living in Torrance, CA. Doreen was born March 11,1935, to Harry and Delores Sumpter in Mitchellville, LA and lived briefly in Detroit, MI, but grew up in Des Moines, LA. Doreen married J.E. (Gene) Blubaugh, October 12, 1953, and raised two sons in Johnston, LA. Years later, she moved to Urbandale, LA and worked as office manager for Des Moines Stamp Mfg. until she retired in 1998. Doreen married William (Bill) G. Stout and they resided in DeSoto, LA. Prior to moving to California in 2012, she lived briefly in Winterset, IA.

She enjoyed all kinds of music, hunting, and boating, but her first love was motorcycling around the USA and Canada with Mr. Stout. They had many friends in the 'Covered Bridge Cruisers Club' of which they were members.

Doreen is survived by two sons, two step-daughters, and a step-son: Mick Blubaugh of Urbandale and Marty Blubaugh (Shelley) in Los Angeles; and Marron (David) Cox, Debra (Chuck) Shelabarger; and Rick Stout of Des Moines. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, a niece, and a nephew.

Doreen was preceded in death by husband William (Bill) Stout in 2007; her parents; sister, Betty Chesnutt; and brother, Roy Sumpter.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 18 at Brooks Funeral Care, 7975 University Blvd., Clive, IA, with burial to follow at Mitchellville Cemetery, Mitchellville, IA. Visitation will be one hour before services.
