June 17, 1912 - May 7, 2013 
Resided in Eldora, IA

Leslie "Max" Satterlee, 100, of Eldora, formerly a long time resident of East Peru, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Valley View Nursing & Rehab Center in Eldora. Services will be held privately by the family. Memorials may be directed to the family. 

Max was born in Stuart, Iowa on June 17, 1912, the son of Martin and Myrtle Satterlee. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Forst on December 21, 1946. Together they welcomed two children into their family. During World War II Max worked as a mechanic at an airplane factory in California. Later the family moved back to Iowa where Max owned and operated a local trucking business, L.M. Satterlee Trucking until his retirement in 1975. Upon his retirement Max and Evelyn enjoyed spending every winter together in Texas. Max will be remembered by his family as a good husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. 

Max is survived by his wife Evelyn; children Janet (Mike) Mark of Iowa Falls, Iowa and Larry Satterlee of McQueeny, Texas; granddaughters Barbra (Mike) Ellis of Eldora, Iowa and Alisha Lust of Baxter, Iowa and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister and 4 brothers.
