October 4, 1977 Metro pg 4Russell Meehan, 81, formerly of Des Moines, died Sunday in Denver, Colo., after a long illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Church in the Irish Settlement near Cumming. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Born in Van Meter, Mr. Meehan lived in Des Moines for many years. He was a graduate of Drake University. He moved to Denver in 1942 and retired in 1965 as an employee of the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Denver. He was a World War I veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude; and a sister, Mrs. Theresa Wermer, of St. Louis, Mo.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at the Westover Funeral Home.
