Inez Marquardt, 87, of Winterset died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Van Meter, with Pastor Kenneth Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church on Friday. Memorials given to the family will be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or Middle River Hospice.

Inez was born on March 15, 1926, at Madison County, Iowa to Seth and Addy (McDonald) Nelson. In 1944 Inez graduated from Winterset High School. She was married on March 15, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church to Walter Marquardt. She was a lifetime resident of Madison County and had worked as a farmer’s wife and homemaker. She had been a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Seth and Addy (McDonald) Nelson; and sister, Doris Nelson.

Inez is survived by her husband, Walter Marquardt of Winterset; sons, Doyle Marquardt of Van Meter and Darvin (Janet) Marquardt of Ames; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
