JOHN MCCAULEY, Winterset

John died Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Winterset Care Center North in Winterset. He was 64.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 30, at Ochiltree Funeral Service where a reception will immediately follow services. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions to the Church of the Nazarene or Middle River Hospice both of Winterset.

John was born in Madison County, IA on February 14, 1949; the son of Theodore and Dorothy (Green) McCauley. He was never married.

John was employed by Innovative Industries, was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Winterset and participated in the Madison County Special Olympics.

Anyone who knew John knows, he loved people! He also loved a good piece of pie (rhubarb was preferred) and he loved to dance. He was a blessing to his family and he taught them so much about life and unconditional love. Simply said, he was an exceptional man.

He is survived by three sisters, Doris Pickens of Newport, OR; Bert Kirkwood of Ankeny; Kay McCauley of Des Moines; two brothers, Bud McCauley and his wife, Jeanie of Adel; Dick McCauley and his wife Susie of Des Moines; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Goldie Wilkinson and Beverly Miller and five brothers, Donald, Raymond, Teddy, Bob, and Larry McCauley.
