Services for Glen N. Carico, 87, who passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, will be held 2 p.m., Friday, March 15 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial with military rites will follow in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill.

Glen served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a prisoner of war for 28 months.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita; son, Glen (Thelma) Carico Jr.; daughters, Leigh Ann (John) George and Rhonda Carico; grandchildren, Brandon Jorgensen and Christopher and Breana Carico; great-grandchildren, Kamden and Rylee Jorgensen; brother Paul Carico; and sisters, Wilma West and Mona Robertson. He was preceded by his parents, four brothers and five sisters.

Services for Glen N. Carico, 87, who passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, will be held 2 p.m., Friday, March 15 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial with military rites will follow in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill. 

Glen Norman Carico, the son of Willard Lee and Violet Rose (Flaugher) Carico, was born June 6, 1925 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a prisoner of war for 28 months. 

On April 16, 1954 he was united in marriage to Juanita Jean Solomon. To this union 3 children were born, Glen Jr. Leigh Ann and Rhonda. 

Glen was a great husband, father, grandfather and man to many. He was an avid fisherman and hunter enjoying the outdoors. Glen was the brother of 12 siblings. He had worked for Des Moines Water Works for 33 years retiring in 1987. 

Survivors include his wife, Juanita; son, Glen (Thelma) Carico Jr.; daughters, Leigh Ann (John) George and Rhonda Carico; grandchildren, Brandon Jorgensen and Christopher and Breana Carico; great-grandchildren, Kamden and Rylee Jorgensen; brother Paul Carico; and sisters, Wilma West and Mona Robertson.
