Eldon Marston Fife died at Regency Health Care Center in Norwalk on Tuesday, May 24, 2005. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2005 at Westover Funeral Home.

Eldon was born August 16, 1916 at Dexter, Iowa to Clarence and Florence Fife. He graduated from Winterset, Iowa High School.

Eldon married Martha Pauline Allen on December 27, 1937 in Milan, Missouri. They lived on the family farm in St. Charles until 1961. Eldon worked for Solar Aircraft and John Deere in Des Moines, School for the Deaf, and Lewis Central School District in Council Bluffs where he retired in 1982. Eldon enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends.

Eldon is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy (Raymond) Nelson of Des Moines, Penny (Willie) Brown of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Patti (Robert) Sieck of Council Bluffs, Iowa; five sons and daughters-in-law, Allen of Urbandale, and Eldon Jr. (Puring) of San Bernadino, California, and Mark (JoAnn) of Des Moines, and Stephen (Julie) of Des Moines, and Dennis (Cindy) of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; 23 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lura Beaman of Indianola, IA, and Laura Welch of Cedar Rapids, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Pauline, daughter, Paula, and sister Francis Hood; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be Friday evening May 27, 2005 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Westover.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
