Ruby McCarl, 80, died Saturday, November 11, 2006 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial at Young Cemetery in Truro, Iowa.
Ruby was born February 4, 1926 to Doyle and Queenie Gracey in Osceola. She was raised in Chicago and moved to Des Moines in 1945 when she married Roy McCarl. She worked at Capital City Woolen Mills for 12 years and spent her life taking care of her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Ruby is survived by her daughters, Mary Lee Crutcher and Lyn Ignatov; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Esther Lorock and Mary (Bob) Whittington; brother, Doyle (Pat) Gracey; and a host of other family and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Eddie Crutcher; grandson, Doyle Crutcher; great-grandson, Jacob Brown; and sister, Meyrlin Tuttle.
