Delores M. "Dee" Reed of Urbandale passed from this life on Sunday, March 3, 2013. Dee was born on a farm outside St. Marys, Iowa on January 7, 1919, to Ollie C. and Clifford J. Halterman. After graduating from Truro High School in 1937, Dee married Charles E. (Charlie) Reed in Bethany, Missouri. Dee and Charlie were married for 71 years. Dee was active for many years in bowling and golf. Her favorite Christmas time activity was baking breads, cookies and candies and giving them away.
Dee leaves behind her daughter Beverlee Jo James (Ron) of West Des Moines; two grandsons, Paul N. Feilen of Chattanooga, TN, and Jon C. Feilen (Aleshia) of Ft Campbell, KY; four great granddaughters, Alexius, Mackenzie, Emily Kate, and Lauren; one great grandson, Jon C. Jr.; and her sister-in-law Lois Reed of Brentwood, CA.
Following cremation, Dee was placed next to her husband at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, IA. Preceding her in death were her parents and husband. Memorial contributions may be made to the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
