Alberta Wadle, 77, of the 1000 block of West Street died of cancer Wednesday at Westview Care Center in Indianola. Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Southtown Funeral Home, with burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Cumming.

Mrs. Wadle was born in Cumming and lived in Lacona during her youth before moving to Des Moines, where she lived most of her life. She had worked as an inserter with Norwest Financial and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by three sons, Randy of Carlisle, and Fred and Jerry, both of Des Moines; a daughter, Rebecca Koonce of Indianola; a sister, Margaret Wiles of Dinuba, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
