Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 5 at Blair Chapel for David Slayden, a former St. Charles resident.

Services for David Fletcher Slayden, 95, of 4340 Fourth St., will be at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday at Blair Chapel in St. Charles.
Mr. Slayden, who had made his home with a son for the last two years, died Friday at Broadlawns Polk County Hospital after suffering a lung hemorrhage. He had been ill seven weeks.
He was born in Grand River and had lived in Wick before coming to Des Moines. He retired from farming in Madison county in 1945.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Dee D. Fink of Lakewood, Colo.; two sons, James of Lynnwood, Wash., and Ammon of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at the St. Charles Cemetery.
