Boy, 14, Dies in Car CrashWesley W. Cochran, Jr., 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Cochran, Sr., of near Macksburg, was killed Sunday in a car accident on a secondary road, four and a half miles northeast of Macksburg.
He was the first highway fatality of the year in Madison county.
The accident occurred about 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The boy was riding with his 16-year-old brother, Carl. Investigating officers said that the car skidded in loose rock, went out of control and plunged into the ditch, when it rolled over.
