Mrs. Grace Smith of Winterset Dies

Life-Time Resident of This County Was 78 Years of Age

Mrs. Grace R. Smith of Winterset, a life-time resident of Madison county, died Friday, Oct. 2, at Memorial hospital here. She was 78 years of age.

Mrs. Smith was the former Grace Richey, daughter of Robert J. and Marg Acheson Richey. She was born in this county Aug. 17, 1886. She was married to Ernest R. Smith on Sept. 28, 1905, in Winterset. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church.

Surviving are a son, Carl H. Smith of Winterset; three grandchildren; a brother, Robert J. Richey of Huron, S. Dak.; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Ellen Jones of Lake Park and Mrs. Alice Rush of Huron, S. Dak.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Wilson Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. John E. Fink, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church of Winterset. Burial was made in West McDonald cemetery.
