Ruth Jones, Des Moines

Ruth Opal Jones of Des Moines died Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Broadlawns Polk County Hospital. She was 63.

Born Aug. 24, 1917, in Orient, she was the daughter of Charles and Lettie May O’Neal.

Survivors include her son Charles Dale Jones of Atlanta, Ga., daughter Judi A. Verhoef of Broken Arrow, Okla., sister Oliver Palmer of Adair, Iowa; brother Darrell O’Neal of Ethen, S. D., and five grandchildren.

Services were held Friday, Aug. 21, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Des Moines. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.

Ruth Jones, Des Moines

Ruth Opal Jones, a former Winterset resident, died Aug. 18 of a heart attack at Broadlawns Polk County Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 63.

Born in Orient, she lived for a time in Winterset but spent most of her life in Des Moines. She was a retired pharmacy clerk with White Drugs of Des Moines.

Survivors include her son Charles Dale Jones of Atlanta, Ga., daughter Judi A. Verhoef of Broken Arrow, Okla., sister Oliver Palmer of Adair, Iowa; brother Darrell Oneal of Ethen, S. D., and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 21, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Des Moines. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
