George Gordon Eckstein of Omaha, Neb., died Saturday, March 28, at the age of 71.

Born on July 5, 1909, in Woodford County, Ill., he was the son of Julius William and Nettie Bell Harris Eckstein. A veteran of World War II Air Corps, he was a chef until retirement in 1976. He moved to Omaha from Des Moines in 1970.

Surviving are his daughter Marie Louise Kerluke of Arvada, Colorado, ----------- and a sister Mary Thorpe, both of Winterset. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Services were held at ---- p.m. Tuesday from the Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery.
