Mrs. Pearl Ladd Dies in Des Moines

Mrs. Pearl Ladd, formerly of Winterset, died Monday, Jan. 21, a nursing home in Des Moines. She was 84 years of age.

Mrs. Ladd had been admitted to the nursing home last July. Prior to that she had lived at -----.

She was the former Pearl Maude Coon, daughter of George and Laura Farlow Coon, and was born at Winterset Aug. 13, 1878. She was a former member of the First Christian church at Winterset.

She was married here to William Ladd, who was employed as a tailor in Winterset. His death occurred about 40 years ago.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Floyd of Sarasota, Fla., a granddaughter, Mrs. Lawton Hart and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. this Thursday from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Robert A. Owens, pastor of the First Christian church of Winterset. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
