Graveside services for Mrs. E. K. Cole, former Winterset resident, were held at the cemetery here, at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 9th. She had died of a stroke at her home at 2509 Raymond drive in Des Moines last Thursday evening, at the age of 86, after a ten week illness.
Mrs. Cole was a native of Maxwell, but she and her husband lived in Winterset for 25 years, while he was in the Starless Products company and also the Munson Manufacturing Co. here. Their three children were raised here but the Coles moved to Centralia, Missouri, in 1934, where he was associated with A. B. Chance company. Mr. Cole died in 1956, and for the past five years, his widow had been residing in Des Moines.
She was a member of the First Baptist church here, and in Des Moines, and the Order of the Eastern Star in Winterset.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Cole of Des Moines and a son, Donald V. Cole of Dallas, Texas and a grandson. A daughter Dorothy, died in ----.
Funeral services were held at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Des Moines last Saturday.
