Mrs. Emma Jensen of Van Meter Dies

Mrs. Emma E. Jensen, a life-long resident of the Van Meter community, died Monday, Sept. 2, at the age of 71 years.

Mrs. Jensen was the former Emma Eleanor Marquardt, daughter of Ferdinand and Augusta Marquardt. She was born in Jefferson township March 29, 1892.

She was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran church in Jefferson township, where she was a member of the Ladies’ Aid society for more than 40 years.

She was married May 25, 1920 to Arthur C. Jensen. He preceded her in death in 1957.

Surviving are four children: Mrs. Eleanor Noack of Van Meter, Walter Jensen of -----, and Mrs. Pauline McKeown and Mrs. Vera Stauffer of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Wishmier of Van Meter, and Mrs. Bertha Marks of Whitewater, Wisc.; and two brothers, August and Carl Marquardt, both of Van Meter.

Funeral services were held last Thursday from Trinity Lutheran church, with burial in the Lutheran cemetery.
