Services Held Joan Vaughan

Joan Cochran Vaughan of Long Beach, Calif., a native of Winterset, died Sunday, June 8, in Long Beach at the age of 59. She had lived in California for nearly 50 years.

Born in Winterset in April of 1921, she was the daughter of Will and Fay Crumbaker Cochran. She moved to Des Moines around 1929 and then to California about two years later.

Surviving are her husband Gilbert and son Greg, both of Long Beach; and two sisters, Mercedes Junge of Homeland, Calif., and Marjorie Jensen of Pasadena, Calif.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 10, at the Long Beach Mortuary, with burial in California.
