Services Monday for Eugene Brown

Funeral services for Eugene P. Brown, 63, of Patterson were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 4, at the Patterson Methodist Church. Burial was at the Union Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Scott Grotewold officiating. Mr. Brown died Friday, June 1, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital.

The son of Samuel G. and Alice Barber Brown, he was born on October 19, 1915, in Madison County. He was married to Esther Douglas on December 5, 1938, in Winterset. A lifetime resident of the county, Mr. Brown had retired this year from John Deere.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife Esther; four sons, Ronald and Robert, both of Patterson, Jim of Earlham, and Kenneth of Peru; two brothers, Art of Patterson and John of Winterset; three sisters, Elma Fogler of Patterson, Florence Fairholm of Peru and Geneva Bertholf of Winterset; and seven grandchildren.
