Martensdale Rites for Harold Tuttle

Funeral services for Harold Elkins Tuttle, 90, of St. Charles were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 14, at the Martensdale Community Church in Martensdale. Burial was at the St. Charles Cemetery with Pastor Joel Andrus officiating.

Mr. Tuttle died on Saturday, May 12, at West View Care Center in Indianola.

The son of Henry and Mary Tuttle, he was born on October 5, 1888 in Polk county. He attended Valley Junction Schools in West Des Moines and on March 22, 1917, he was married to Orpha M. Daniel at St. Charles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Orpha; two sons Alden and Lyle and a step daughter, Barbara.

Survivors include a daughter, Vilna Kennedy of Van Wert; three sons, Merrill Tuttle of St. Charles, Wendell Tuttle of Corydon and Gene Tuttle of Des Moines; 28 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
