Services Held For Betty Cousins

Betty Cousins, 78, of Winterset, died Monday, December 4, at Winterset Care Center South.

Daughter of William and Mary Olive Linderman Betts, she was born May 25, 1900 at Little Sioux, Iowa. On July 27, 1929 she married Bert Cousins in Centerville, Iowa. Mrs. Cousins had resided here the past 16 years.

Survivors include three sons, Richard Peterson of Ontario, California, Kenneth Cousins of DeSoto, Don Cousins of Crane, Missouri; and one step-son, Clane Cousins of Mesa, Arizona. Also surviving are six daughters, Phyllis Johnson of Ontario, California, Beverly Johnson of Upland, California, Shirley Clark of DeSoto, Betty Stark of Des Moines, Marilyn Cousins of West Des Moines, Joyce Burkhead of Lorimor; two step-daughters, Laverna Kuhns of Nevada, Iowa and Joy Boucher of Port Angeles, Washington.

Three sisters also survive, Odetta Jennings of Sergeant Bluffs and Mrs. Edna Bruning and Beulah Hanson, both of Sioux City; 23 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Cousins was preceded in death by her husband, Bert, her parents, two sons, Raymond Peterson and Cleve Cousins; and brother, Everett Stuart.

Services were held Thursday, December 7 at the Collins Funeral Home. Burial was made at Hamblin Cemetery. Rev. David Livingston officiated.
