Page 9Rites Held For George Spencer
George Spencer, 70, died Sunday, December 3, at his home in Winterset.
Born March 18, 1908, in Kearney, Missouri, his parents were Charles and Annie Thomas Spencer. He married Ethelyn Dorsey Lattig on May 21, 1932, in Tonganoxie, Kansas.
From this marriage there were nine children. He had lived in Madison County the past 46 years, he retired from farming last year.
Survivors are his wife; children, Harold of Red Oak, Bill of Lorimor, Kathy Lansing of Eldon, Missouri, and Jerry, George Jr., Gary, Marlene Saxton, Joyce Givan and Deloris Losee, all of Winterset; 16 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister, one grandchild and one great grandchild.
Services were held Wednesday morning at Macksburg United Methodist Church. Burial was made at Moon Cemetery, south of Macksburg. Rev. John Ackerman and Rev. Kenneth Helmers officiated.
