Mrs. Earl Norman Death Saturday

Mina Aldora Potter, daughter of George and Hattie Gowins Potter, was born February 27, 1893, at Patterson, Iowa, and died July 9, 1977, at Madison County Memorial Hospital at the age of 84 years.

On March 1, 1914, she was united in marriage to Earl Norman. They were actively engaged in farming in the Van Meter and Mitchellville areas until 1959 when they moved from near Van Meter to West Des Moines, where they made their home until Mr. Norman’s death in February 1974. Mrs. Norman continued living in West Des Moines until October 1974 when she moved to Winterset Care Center North where she resided until her death.

Mrs. Norman was a member of the Van Meter United Methodist Church.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Roy, John and Ernest Potter, and three sisters, Letitia Don Carlos, Flora Quick and Marie Boelter.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 12, at 10:30 a.m. from the Chamberlain-Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter with burial at Union Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Ellis Andrews officiated.
