George M. Jones Passes Away

George M. Jones passed away Sunday night with Brights disease at the home of his son, A. L. Jones of Longs station, age 75 years. The funeral service will be held at the cemetery at 10 o'clock today, Tuesday, Rev. Lem T. Root having charge.

The deceased came here in May from Medford, Oregon, and was making his home with his son. He is survived by two other sons, George M. Jones of Dayton and J. B. Jones of Pleasant City, California.

Transcriber's note: Per "The Roster and Records of the Iowa Troops in the Rebellion" by Guy E. Logan, George Jones was a resident of Madison County in 1864 when he enlisted in Company C, 12th Iowa Volunteer Infantry.
