Word has been received here of the death of Gladys DeVault at Sebastopol, California. Mrs. DeVault was a former Winterset resident.

Funeral services are pending.

Former Resident Dies

Gladys B. DeVault, 87, a resident of California since 1959, died Wednesday, March 3rd, at Sebastopol, California.

She was born in Adair County, the only daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Bailey Wright. Four brothers, Guy, Ray, Wayne and Max, preceded her in death.

Most of her life was spent in Madison County with the exception of 12 years in Honolulu. She was married to Ralph J. DeVault in January 1906 and passed away in December of 1922.

She is survived by a daughter, Berniece L. Pope, Sebastopol; two sons, Clair J. DeVault, Honolulu, and Lloyd W. DeVault, Fresno; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was a member of the Winterset Eastern Star Chapter No. 180 and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Her remains will be brought back later for memorial service and interment in the family plot at the Winterset Cemetery.
