Mrs. Verl Smith Dies at 69

Funeral services for Iris Callison Smith of rural Lorimor were held Saturday afternoon, August 28 from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.

Mrs. Smith died August 26 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was 69 years of age.

The daughter of Fred and Bertha Riser Imboden, she was born in Madison County on October 30, 1906. She resided in this county for a total of 57 years, and for 15 years of that time taught school in Winterset.

She was married to John D. Callison in 1935 at Macksburg. He preceded her in death in 1957.

On June 24, 1964 she was married to Verl Smith, who survives.

Mrs. Smith is also survived by two sisters, Erma Thrailkill of Macksburg and Ona Nelson of Nevada, Iowa; and by two brothers, Clifford Imboden of Earlham and Richard Imboden of Austin, Minnesota.

Officiating at the funeral Saturday was the Rev. Paul Bousfield of the First United Methodist Church of Winterset. Burial was in Moon Cemetery near Macksburg.
