Mrs. Miller Dies at 95

Funeral services for Julia Amy Miller, a life-long resident of Madison County, were held last Saturday afternoon, April 10 from the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.

Mrs. Miller died April 7, 1976 at the home of her daughter, south of Winterset. She was 95 years of age.

A daughter of Jonathan and Elizabeth Bateman McKee, she was born March 19, 1881 at Macksburg in Madison County.

She was married to C. S. (Chancey) Miller on October 19, 1904 in Winterset. Mr. Miller, a long-time Winterset barber and farmer, died December 2, 1967.

A housewife, Mrs. Miller was a member of the Zion Federated Church, the church’s Ladies Aid, Scott Township Community Circle, a member of Metalic Club.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Mary) Black of near Winterset; three grandchildren and two foster grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and four foster great grandchildren; and 14 great great grandchildren.

Officiating at the funeral service was John Safford. Burial was in Union Chapel, south of Patterson.
