Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 24 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset for Nell E. Salsbury, 84, who died Monday, March 22, 1976 at Madison County Memorial Hospital.
A resident of Madison County for about 70 years, Mrs. Salsbury was born November 22, 1892 at Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of William Brock and Sarah Noteboom Brock.
The marriage of Nell Salsbury to James Clifton Salsbury took place March 25, 1909 in Winterset. He preceded her in death May 4, 1957.
A housewife, Mrs. Salsbury was affiliated with the Methodist Church in Patterson. She is survived by five children, Lowell Salsbury of Des Moines, Delbert Salsbury of Woodland, Calif., Jesse Salsbury of Carroll, Iowa, Gladys Courtney of Norwalk, Iowa, and Hazel Goodwin of rural Winterset.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one brother, Myrtle Brock of Creston and a sister, Sadie Hill of Winterset.
Nell E. Salsbury was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Russell, three brothers and one sister.
Services from Collins Funeral Home were held at 10:30 a.m. this Wednesday with Rev. Eldon Ringle officiating. Burial was made at the Mt. Pelier Cemetery near Patterson.
