Mrs. Ruth Spelman of Winterset died at the Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny this Tuesday after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services are pending.

Wednesday, March 31, 1976Funeral For Ruth Spelman
A resident of Madison County for 48 years, Ruth Dorothy Spelman died Tuesday, March 23, 1976, at the age of 80. Funeral services were held Friday, March 26 at 10:30 a.m. from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
Ruth Spelman was born September 10, 1895 in Union County, Iowa, the daughter of Henry Schoenenberger and Mary Etta Callison. She married Leo B. Spelman in 1915 in Winterset.
Returning to Winterset in 1948 from a residence in Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Spelman were co-owners of the Madison County Drugstore for 13 years. Leo Spelman preceded his wife in death September 21, 1963.
Affiliated with the Christian Church, Mrs. Spelman is survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen Berg, Ankeny; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Bea Creger and Louise Reese, both of Winterset; and a brother, Joe Schoenenberger of Winterset.
Officiating at Friday’s services for Mrs. Spelman was Rev. Eldon Jandebeur of Winterset. Burial was made at the Winterset cemetery.
