Nuzum Death Reported

Vivian E. Nuzum, 78, died Monday, January 12, 1976, at her home in rural St. Charles. Funeral services are pending from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.

Services For Vivian Nuzum

A member of the St. Charles community for over 40 years, Vivian Esther Nuzum, died at her home in rural St. Charles Monday, January 12, 1976. She was 78 years of age.

The daughter of Dennis Rush and Margaret Lahs, Mrs. Nuzum was born December 3, 1897 at Mt. Ayr, Iowa. She was married to Russell A. Nuzum on December 25, 1917, in Des Moines. He preceded her in death August 9, 1970.

A homemaker, Mrs. Nuzum lived in Madison County 42 years at the time of her death. She was a member of the Methodist Church in St. Charles and later helped in the Elm Grove Church which was then known as the American Sunday School Union.

Surviving Mrs. Nuzum are six daughters and a son: Mrs. Laurence (Kathleen) Walch of Roseau, Minnesota; Mrs. James (Mary) Michaels of Des Moines; Mrs. Harland (Margie) E. Johnson of Thompson, Iowa; Mrs. Emery Joe (Charlotte) Rosenbaugh of Buffalo Center, Iowa; Mrs. Larry (Carolyn) N. Taylor of Marion, Iowa; Corleen Nuzum of St. Charles, Iowa; and Raymond Nuzum of Winterset.

Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two sisters, Estella Carstens of Mason City, Iowa, and Ruth Ziemery of Amery, Wisconsin.

Mrs. Nuzum was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one daughter (Alice), one son (Richard) and two sisters (Zella Hendricks and Naomia Luckow).

Funeral services for Vivian Esther Nuzum were conducted Thursday, January 15, 1976 at 1:30 p.m. from Collins funeral Home in Winterset, Rev. Clarence Hoven, Eddyville, Iowa, officiating.

Burial was made at the Sayre Cemetery, Madison County.
