Clarence Everett Hayes, a long time resident of Truro, died at Madison County Memorial Hospital July 26th, after a long illness. He was 65.
Mr. Hayes was born at Bedford, Iowa, the son of Samuel Hayes and Mary Jane Taylor on July 5, 1910. He was married December 24, 1948 to Lela Ilene Hendrickson at Clarinda, Iowa. They were the parents of three children.
He is survived by his wife Lela; a son Everett Hayes of Truro; and two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Janice) Hartfield of Red Oak and Rhonda Hayes of Kansas City and three sisters.
Funeral services were held from the Kale Funeral Home in Truro Monday afternoon, July 28th , with Pastor Lloyd Miller of St. Charles officiating. Burial was in the Young Cemetery at Truro.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 28, for Clarence Everett Hayes, 65, who died at the Madison County Hospital in Winterset on Saturday, July 26. The Rev. Lloyd Miller of St. Charles conducted the 2 p.m. service from the Kale Funeral Home in Truro. Interment was in Young Cemetery at Truro.
Clarence Everett Hayes was born July 5, 1910, in Bedford, Iowa, son of Samuel Hayes and Mary Jane Taylor Hayes. On December 24, 1948, he was married to Lela Ilene Hendrickson in Clarinda. Three children were born to this union.
Survivors include his wife, Lela Ilene of Truro; son, Everett Hayes of Truro; daughter, Janice Hartfield and husband, Larry of Redfield; daughter, Rhonda Hayes of Kansas City, Missouri, three sisters, Mary Edna Dugan of Maloy, Iowa, Anna Gaddis of Council Bluffs and Marie Smith of Barkew, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothy Hayes and one brother, Levi Hayes.
