Marie Eyerly Died Thursday

Mrs. Marie Eyerly of Winterset died Thursday, June 28, at a Des Moines hospital. She was 72 years of age.

Mrs. Eyerly was the former Marie Cochran, and was born in Madison county Oct. 28, 1900. Most of her life was spent in the Macksburg community, except for the past several months in Winterset.

Her husband, Orris C. Eyerly, preceded her in death. She leaves two sons, Walter Eyerly of Macksburg and Clare Eyerly of Illinois, and a daughter, Arloene, of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Grace Baptist Church in Winterset, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Lon Reising. Burial was made in Moon cemetery at Macksburg.

Mae Eyerly dies at 72

Mrs. Orris C. (Mae Marie) Eyerly, 72, of Macksburg, died at the Des Moines General hospital at Des Moines at 9:50 a.m., Thursday. She had been ill for two weeks.

Mrs. Eyerly had lived in Madison county all of her life.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Grace Baptist church at Winterset, of which she was a member. Rev. Lon K. Reising will officiate. Burial will be in the Moon cemetery at Macksburg. Her family will be at Coen’s Home for Funerals at Creston from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight.

Her family said a memorial fund has been established for Grace Baptist church at Winterset.

Mae Marie Cochran was born at Macksburg, Oct. 28, 1900. She was the daughter of Walter and Bertha Mae Cook Cochran. She was married in Madison county, Feb. 16, 1922, to Orris C. Eyerly, who preceded her in death Feb. 11, 1972.

Mrs. Eyerly is survived by two sons, Claire Eyerly of St. Louis, Mo., and Walter Eyerly of Macksburg; a daughter, Arolene Eyerly of Winterset; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Helen Kingery of Des Moines.
