E. C. Youmans of Truro Dies
Ernest C. Youmans, a prominent farmer in the Truro community for many years, died Saturday, March 31, at Madison Manor South in Winterset. He was 82 years of age.
Mr. Youmans was born near Peru Nov. 20, 1890, and spent his life in this county. He was a son of George and Belle Deardorf Youmans.
He was married Feb. 22, 1911, to Edith Frank, who survives him. He also leaves a son, Gene Youmans of Truro; four daughters, Mrs. Thelma Armstrong of Truro, Mrs. Dorothy Brooks of St. Charles, Mrs. Geraldine Johnson of Sioux Falls, S. Dak., and Mrs. Colleen Hall of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Merrill Creger of Truro and Mrs. Willard Reed of Harlingen, Tex.
Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Truro Christian church, conducted by the Rev. Richard Hempenius. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
