Mrs. Lenna Waltz of Winterset Dies

Mrs. Lenna Waltz of Winterset died last Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Memorial hospital here. She was 79 years of age.

Mrs. Waltz was a native of Madison county, and spent 64 years of her life here. She moved to Winterset last year, after having spent 15 years in Des Moines.

She was the former Lenna Grout, daughter of Edwin and Ida Cooper Grout. She was married in Winterset Feb. 17, 1915, to Elgie Waltz. His death occurred in 1954.

She was active in church work in Barney and in Des Moines, being a member of the Capitol Hill Christian church in Des Moines.

Surviving are two sons, Robert E. Waltz of Kansas City, Mo. and Glen Waltz of Des Moines; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Eckstein of Macksburg.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. E. E. Jandebeur, pastor of the First Christian church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
