Glenn Adams, 74, Died Friday

Glenn A. Adams, a Madison County native, died at the age of 74 last Friday, August 13, 1971, at Northwest Hospital in Des Moines.

Mr. Adams was born on April 24, 1897 in Winterset. He was the son of Buell and Anna Smith Adams. On December 25, 1927, he and his wife, Letha Mae were married at the Methodist parsonage in Winterset.

Mr. Adams and his wife left Madison county in 1936. He was a retired grocery store manager, having resided in Red Oak, Iowa for the past 18 years.

He was a member of the Methodist church.

Two sons survive Mr. Adams. They are Donald E. Adams of Des Moines and Wayne M. Adams of West Des Moines. Four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one brother, Robert Adams of Bakersfield, California and one sister, Mrs. Glenn Wiley of Des Moines also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. last Monday, August 16 at the Collins Funeral home in Winterset with the Rev. Newton Coughenour presiding. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery.
