Floyd McKinney Dies at 53 Years

Floyd J. McKinney of Patterson died last Thursday, April 22 at University hospital in Iowa City. He was 53 years of age.

Mr. McKinney was a life-time resident of Madison county. He was born here Dec. 17, 1917, a son of James and Anna Simpson McKinney. He was married July 23, 1954, at Winterset, to Patricia Hathaway, who survives him.

He was formerly employed as a welder at the Eagle Iron Works in Des Moines.

He is survived by a son, Floyd E. McKinney of Englewood, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs. Judith Lester of Aurora, Colo., and Teresa and Vanessa McKinney at home. He also leaves six grandchildren; two brothers, Dale McKinney, of St. Charles and Sam McKinney, of Des Moines; and two sisters, Mrs. Loren Farr of Prole and Mrs. Roy Anderson of Globe, Ariz.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Winterset Foursquare church, conducted by the Rev. Charles Updike. Burial was made in Blair Chapel cemetery.
