Fred Johnston of St. Charles Dies

Fred R. Johnston of St. Charles died Wednesday, Nov. 26, at the St. Charles nursing home. He was 80 years of age.

Mr. Johnston was a native of St. Charles, were he was born Sept. 9, 1889, a son of Alexander W. and Sally Leftwich Johnston. His life was spent in Madison, Taylor and Warren counties. He was a member of the Methodist church at St. Charles.

Mr. Johnston was married in 1909 to Iris Neal.

He is survived by three children, Mrs. Josephine Brunch of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Margret Lovely of Murray, and Max Johnston; and three sisters, Mrs. Inez Hart of Des Moines, Mrs. Leah Rowen of Pontiac, Mo., and Mrs. Bess Johnson of St. Charles.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the St. Charles Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Jim Louk. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
