Wednesday, November 5, 1969Joseph Stout Dies in Oregon Crash
Joseph D. Stout of Yamhill, Ore., was killed there Tuesday, Oct. 28, in a highway accident. He was 36 years of age.
Mr. Stout was a former resident of Madison county, but had lived in Oregon since 1966. He was a son of Lytton and Dorthy Eckleberry Stout, and was born at Murray on Dec. 19, 1932.
He was employed as a mechanic in the construction industry. He was a member of the Elks lodge at Sierra Vista, Ariz., and of the Christian church.
He served with the U.S. armed forces in the Korean war.
Mr. Stout is survived by two children, Michael K. Stout and Jolene R. Stout of of Des Moines, his mother, Mrs. Dorthy Stout of Oregon, and a brother, Donald E. Stout of Oregon.
Funeral services were held with full military honors from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset this Monday. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
