Winterset Madisonian – October 1969

Mrs. Grace Loomis of near Lorimor, a life-time resident of Madison county, died Saturday, Oct. 11, at her home near Lorimor. She was 67 years of age.

Mrs. Loomis was born in this county June 24, 1902, a daughter of Robert and Rose Sheldon Adcock. She was married March 15, 1927, to Walter Loomis, who survives her.

She was a member of the Church of God at Lorimor, and was active in the Missionary society of that church.

Preceding her in death was a daughter, Mrs. Clella M. Burgan, in 1967. In addition to her husband, she leaves three children, Kenneth Loomis of Afton, Mrs. Helen Reed of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Robert Loomis of Pleasant Hill, Calif. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters, Amy Adcock of Bellflower, Calif., Elver Adcock of Lodik, Calif., Mrs. Ethel Shrock of Hubbard, Ore., Wilbur Adcock of Lakewood, Calif., and Dale Adcock of Anderson, Ind.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Carl F. Bohn of Madrid. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
