Everett Bailey Dies at 87 Years

Everett D. Bailey of Winterset, a retired farmer who had lived in Madison county since 1919, died Sunday, Oct. 5, at Madison Manor nursing home. He was 87 years of age.

Mr. Bailey was a native of Illinois, where he was born at Mason on Oct. 23, 1881, a son of William and Anna Holland Bailey. His active life was spent in farming, until he retired and moved to Winterset in 1949.

He was married at Pierre, S. Dak., on Jan 13, 1920, to Nellie Boone, who survives him.

He was a member of the First Baptist church.

In addition to his wife, he leaves four sons, Henry, Russell and Herschel Bailey of Illinois and Lloyd Bailey of Omaha; two daughters, Mrs. Arlene Morgan and Mrs. Wilma Olson of California; a step-daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Howard of Winterset; a sister, Mrs. Nora Elliett of Michigan; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. H. E. Borum, pastor of the First Baptist church here. Burial was made in Union Chapel cemetery.
