Macksburg Burial For O. D. LeCocq
Funeral services for Orla D. LeCocq, long-time Madison county resident, were held last Saturday, June 21, from the Macksburg Methodist church.
Mr. LeCocq died June 18 at Winterset. He was 82 years of age.
A son of Lester A. and Mary Miller LeCocq, he was born on a farm north of Lorimor on Feb. 13, 1887. On Jan. 7, 1914, he was married to Allie May Moffitt, at the home of her parents near Macksburg.
Mr. LeCocq farmed near Macksburg for a number of years. He retired and moved to Macksburg in 1948.
He was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge, Grand River 406, at Macksburg.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sisters, Pearl Farnsworth and Cammie Downey of Creston, and Ruth Garrett of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, R. D. LeCocq of Winterset and Clifford LeCocq of Creston; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles.
Officiating at the funeral last Saturday was the Rev. Ronald Kinsler. Burial was in Moon cemetery south of Macksburg.
