Frank P. Picken Dies at 78 Years

Frank P. Picken of Des Moines, a former resident of St. Charles, died at his home in Des Moines Monday, May 19. He was 78 years of age.

Mr. Picken was a native of Warren county, where he was born at St. Marys on March 9, 1891, a son of William and Martha Dickey Picken. He moved from St. Charles to Des Moines in 1943.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge and Eastern Star at St. Charles.

Mr. Picken was married at St. Charles on Dec. 23, 1914, to Nellie Henson, who survives him. He also leaves three daughters, Mrs. Martha Richmond of Des Moines, Mrs. Walter Ralston of Omaha, Nebr., and Mrs. Milo Zenor of Ft. Dodge; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Glen Lathrum of St. Charles, and Mrs. Walter Cline, Mrs. Floyd Jones, and Mrs. Fred Holmes, all of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Thursday from the St. Charles Methodist church, conducted by the pastor the Rev. Jim Louk and the Rev. Basil Grimes of Des Moines. Burial was in the St. Charles cemetery.
