Mrs. Frank Neidt of Truro Dies

Mrs. Frank Neidt, a long-time resident of the Truro community died Saturday, June 7 at her home in Truro. She was 75 years of age.

Mrs. Neidt was the former Edith Spurgin, daughter of Joseph and Mary Cox Spurgin. She was born near Peru Aug. 4, 1893. She was married to Frank Neidt June 19, 1912. Their married life was spent in Madison county.

Mrs. Neidt was a member of the Truro Christian church, and of the Garden club, Thursday Girls and Oak Run circle in that community.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Joe and Laverne Neidt of Truro; two daughters, Mrs. Cleona Knapp of Des Moines and Mrs. Mary E. Ryan of Truro; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a foster brother, Curtis Dowler of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Truro Christian church conducted by the Rev. Richard Hempenius. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.

Edith Neidt, 75, Services Monday

Funeral services were held Monday, June 9, for Edith Neidt, 75, who died June 7, at her home in Truro. The Rev. Richard Hempenius conducted the 2 p.m. funeral from the Christian Church in Truro with interment in the Peru Cemetery.

Edith Neidt was born August 4, 1893, near Peru in Madison County, daughter of Joseph Spurgin and Mary Cox Spurgin. She attended school in Madison and Clarke County and on June 19, 1912 was married to Frank Neidt in Clarke County. Five children were born to this union. She lived all her married life in Madison County. She was a member of the Christian Church, Truro Garden Club Thursday Girls and Oak Run Circle.

Survivors include her husband Frank, of Truro; two daughters, Mrs. Cleona Knapp of Des Moines and Mrs. Mary Evelyn Brant of Truro; two sons, Laverne and Joe of Truro; one foster brother, Curtis Dowler of Des Moines; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one sister and three brothers.
