Former Winterset Resident Died Last Week in Des Moines

Myers B. Farlow, a resident of Winterset for most of his life, died Tuesday, April 2, at a Des Moines hospital. He was 51 years of age.

Mr. Farlow was born in Winterset, May 5, 1916, a son of Earl and Mae Farlow. He graduated from Winterset High school with the class of 1933. During most of his life he followed the trade of painter. He had lived in a number of states, and recently had been making his home at Bensenville, Ill.

He is survived by four sons, Eldred Farlow of the U.S. navy, Jerry Farlow of New Hartford, Kenneth Farlow of Dike, and Randall Farlow of the U.S. army in Vietnam; two daughters, Mrs. Dayna Decker of Lorimor and Linda Kay Farlow of Boone; 14 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Mae Farlow of Akron, O.; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Phillips of Truro, Mrs. Paulina Brooks of Michigan, Mrs. Iva Gollan of Colorado, and Mrs. Ruth Condon of California; and a brother, Carl Farlow of Washington.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Charles Updike, pastor of the Winterset Foursquare Church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
