Former Resident Dies in Michigan
Mrs. Bertha Weinhold of Troy, Mich., member of a formerly well-known Winterset family, died Friday, April 5, at a hospital in Royal Oak, Mich., after a brief illness. She was 63 years of age.
Mrs. Weinhold was the former Bertha Benge, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Warren Benge of Winterset. She was born in Winterset April 26, 1904 and spent her early life in this community. She graduated from Winterset High school with the class of 1921, and attended Coe college in Cedar Rapids, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She was a member of PEO in Birmingham.
She was married to George A. Weinhold and they had lived in Troy and Burlingham, Mich., for the last 24 years. She was a member of St. James Episcopal church in Troy.
Survivors include her husband; a son, George B. Weinhold of Painted Post, N.Y.; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Hulbert (Gertrude) Simon of Winterset and Mrs. John (Miriam) Hull of -----------------; four brothers, Joseph Benge of Anderson, Ind., Robert A. Benge of Long Beach, Calif., Leland K. Benge of Davenport, and Donald Benge of LaGrange, Ill.
Funeral services were held Monday in Burlingham, Mich. with burial at Troy Memorial.
