Mrs. Barbara Weil Dies at 96 Years

Mrs. Barbara A. Weil, a long time resident of the Irish settlement in Warren and Madison counties, died Thursday, Jan. 18, at a Des Moines hospital. She was 96 years of age.

Mrs. Weil was a native of Marion county, but had lived nearly all of her long life in the Churchville community. In recent years she had been a resident of the Bishop Drumm home in Des Moines.

She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Assumption at Churchville where she was active in the Altar and Rosary society.

Survivors include two sons, John Weil of Cumming and Frank Weil of Madison county, three daughters, Mrs. Agnes Kirk and Mrs. Dorothy Luebbers, both of Des Moines, and Mrs. Ruth Murphy of West Branch; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday from St. Patrick’s Catholic church in Lee township, with burial in the cemetery there.
