Retired Farmer Had Lived in Madison County Since 1935
Ralph Lane of Truro, died Friday, Sept. 29, at Clarke county hospital in Osceola. He was a retired farmer, and was 79 years of age.
Mr. Lane was born at Prescott on March 3, 1888, a son of James and Adeline Shroyer Lane. He was married at Devonville on Feb. 28, 1912, to Mae Patterson, who survives him.
He had been a resident of Madison county since 1935. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are six children, Mrs. Bernice Henry of Lorimor, Iowa, Ward Lane of St. Charles, Orval Lane of Independence, Mo., Darrell Lane of Austin, Tex., Naoma Myers of Holden, Mo., and Helen Skaggs of Earlham; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Blanche Maxedon of Prescott.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Truro Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. James Nicholson. Burial was made in Ebenezer cemetery
