Mrs. Katie Fee Died On Friday

Resident of St. Charles for Many Years Was 86 Years of Age

Mrs. Katie Fee, a well-known resident of the St. Charles community for many years, died Friday, Sept. 29, at a nursing home there. She was 86 years of age.

Mrs. Fee was a native of Nebraska, where she was born April 23, 1881, a daughter of Walter and Mary Crosby. She lived in Nebraska until 1894, when she moved with her family to Mitchellville, of this state. In 1901, they moved to a farm near Hanley.

As a young woman, she taught rural school for 10 years. She joined the Methodist church of Hanley in 1905, and attended services as long as her health permitted.

She was married Jan. 27, 1909 to Thomas Fee. His death occurred in 1952.

Mrs. Fee was a member of the Methodist church at St. Charles.

Sis survived by three sons, Vernon Fee of St. Charles, Willard Fee of Vallejo, Calif., and Walter Fee of El Cajon, Calif.; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Rose Schlenker of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Monday from the St. Charles Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. James Louk. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
